MLFA's first tour: Qing Yuan, China (October 2013)

9 brave young boys and 1 intrepid young lady ventured into the unknown for the 2 day, 7 team Dansport Cup. After a long and at times bumpy bus ride the team arrived in China on Friday the 18th, played their hearts out for 3 x 40 minute games on the Saturday and finished a great weekend off with a 6-1 win of Shenzhen Tie Lang in the 3rd/4th play-off on the Sunday morning.

Along with the great football which was played in a very spirited and friendly way, the team had a wonderful time and what was most rewarding for me and the parents present was to see how they bonded together over the weekend.

The participants were;

Anson Tam, Ryan Tse, Kion Chan, Jack Grimshaw, Charlie Cameron, Jan-Me Eskens, Caitlin Blanchard, Arjun Sahney, Fred Lee and Sylvester Lee.

A special mention goes out to the parents who joined for the trip. Their support for the team and the event was better than fantastic.

Xiamen, China. June 2014

The Xiamen International Football Tournament took place on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th June 2014 and was held on the small island of Gulangyu in Xiamen Bay. The tournament took place at the historic People's Stadium.  Built by the Portuguese in 1898, the People's Stadium was home to China's first official football match and is both a glorious venue to play football on and one that is stepped in history

Four boys and two girls teams took part with MLFA taking home 4 trophies out of the 5 age divisions!

The Millennium Harbour Grand was our hotel for the weekend and the hosts Pacific Sports were fantastic hosts and we thank them very much for their hospitality.
